A few things you might be wondering, before your first bite.

What is jhalmuri?

Jhalmuri, also written as jhal muri, is a Bengali street-food snack made with puffed rice, spices and mustard oil. Dhurrbaabaa’s DIY kit lets you mix your own Kolkata-style jhalmuri at home.

Buy a DIY jhalmuri kit online or explore Bengali food gifts for teams and celebrations.

What’s inside my Dhurrbaabaa kit?

A little concoction of the secret ingredients behind Kolkata’s authentic jhalmuri, ready for you to mix in your shaker thonga, the paper cone Bengalis know and love.

Inside: muri, our 18+ spice masala, dhania-pudina chutney, chana, chanachur with peanuts and papri, mustard oil, and sev.

You’ll also find two free stickers, handmade notes and a how-to guide, a story card about how jhalmuri went global, and a feedback QR note. Scan it and tell us how we can make your next jhalmuri moment even better.

Prefer to leave an ingredient out? Go ahead. We think it tastes best with all the suggested ingredients mixed in.

Pack of 2 or pack of 4: what’s the difference?

Choose a pack of 2 for ₹199 or a pack of 4 for ₹379. On our checkout page, apply “tumi amake bhalobasho” (You love me) for a ₹149 2-pack, or “shobai mile khao” (Everyone, eat together) for a ₹319 4-pack. Shipping is free across India.

How do I make my jhalmuri?

Empty the ingredients into your shaker thonga, shake it up, and enjoy. Your handmade guide notes will show you the way. Then post a snap and tag us on Instagram. We’d love to see your jhalmuri moment!

Kitna jhal? Can I control the spice?

The masala is the hero: each portion is measured for one perfect muri serving. For a milder mix, start with less masala and dhania-pudina chutney, taste, then add more until it feels just right.

Is it vegetarian? What about allergens?

Yes, it’s a vegetarian snack. The kit includes peanuts and mustard oil. If you have an allergy or a specific dietary requirement, please email dhurrbaabaa@gmail.com before ordering so we can confirm the ingredients with you.

How soon should I enjoy my kit?

Enjoy your kit within three weeks of placing your order. That window includes delivery time, so don’t save that first bite for too long!

Where do you deliver, and how long does it take?

We ship across India, with free shipping. We dispatch within one day of ordering; delivery usually takes 2–7 days.

How do I order and pay?

Choose a pack of 2 or 4, apply its coupon, then follow the payment link to complete your order. All orders are prepaid, with payments handled securely by our payment gateway partner, Razorpay.

Can I send it as a gift?

Absolutely. We can curate and customise a jhalmuri gift for someone special. Email dhurrbaabaa@gmail.com and tell us what you have in mind.

Do you take bulk or customised orders?

Yes! There’s no minimum order quantity, and we ship across India. For gifting, gatherings or something more personal, email dhurrbaabaa@gmail.com and let’s curate it together.

What makes the packaging special?

Its premium feel comes from the handcraft: every detail has been thoughtfully chosen to tell a little story of Bengal.

The gamcha is a nod to Bengali pujo traditions and the quick-drying towel found in so many homes. Jute celebrates West Bengal’s rich jute-growing heritage, which is why we made it part of the packaging. Alongside the handmade notes and story card, it makes opening your kit part of the experience.
